A Review of Candy Crush Soda Saga

In the continuing saga of the Candy Crush game comes another spin-off to this fun puzzle game, Candy Crush Soda Saga. Despite its similarity to the original Candy Crush Saga, this Soda Saga version comes with a number of additional features and a more challenging gameplay.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Candy Crush Soda Saga works much the same way as the original Candy Crush. At the start, you’ll have to pop those soda bottles. This is done by matching the soda bottles to other candies with similar colors. You need to gather all the required soda bottles for each level to advance.

As the level advances, the gummy bear and some frostings will begin appearing.  For some levels, the player is required to float a giant gummy bear hidden amidst the candies. With few moves to spare, you must uncover the giant bear to float it in time.

The higher the level, the more combos you can get, but the more difficult it is to achieve. If it’s any consolation, the ‘Shuffling’ feature is a lifesaver.

While the Soda Saga may not be for everyone, puzzle enthusiasts should have a great time going through all the challenges in this game. It’s the perfect game to kill time, while you’re commuting to work or having a lunch break. It’s equal parts challenging and frustrating especially if you run out of lives and you need to purchase or beg friends on Facebook.

The starting levels are easy enough, but once it reaches level 15, it becomes more difficult. While the background music is relaxing, courtesy of the London Symphony Orchestra, you get this giddy feeling when playing the game. When you run out of the five lives you’re given, you can step back, let out your frustration, come back a few hours later with your five lives restored, and pick up on where level you left off!

Of course, there are some downsides to the game, but heck, if you compare it with how addicting and fun it is to watch all those sodas popping and all those colorful candies moving around coupled with the ‘juicy’ and ‘tasty’ encouragements, you’ll have that sense of fulfillment like no other!
